yes, i’ve been discussing this plenty with a particular peep on matrix and now it’s here. horray. the one, the only, the legendary spoon feeding post where Lilac feeds White a bit of pureed apple ~

I enjoy these comics. They really sell the sparkly sensation. Even if they’re a bit cheesy. But why the pureed apples?

my question now is: does it only sell the sparkly sensation or do you actually get the sensation a bit? thats - now thats what im aiming for.

and yeaaaa bits cheesy indeed… otherwise though i wouldnt get the feels across as well I believe.

with this one… panel 5 is quiiiiite a lot. like a looooot a lot. maybe too much.
its so close, it’s so much sparkle it may be too much.

a simpler text-only panel might have done it better. imagining it may be more exciting than seeing it… of course it is!

but at that point, just… writing the whole thing instead would be better! and not everyone likes… reading. its supposed to be visual its supposed to be kinda grabbing…

Not the original commenter, but I think part of what “sells” (ugh… I hate capitalism) it is the simplicity of it.

Instead of imagining a specific scene, with specific people, we have ideas: no locations, names, or specifc identities.

I can imagine myself in place of either Lilac or White, and it just works.

Also, lesbians, gays, and straights can all enjoy it since it’s abstract, so that’s kinda nifty as well.
