  • The underlying problem was that the fibers had entered his body and were mobile, so almost impossible to remove, even in multiple operations. Any secondary problems they caused, such as those bacteria, kept getting worse.

    So no, the fibers themselves were definitely a large part of the problem.

  • I knew a guy who lost a foot after getting a fibreglass splinter in it which caused an infection. And he wasn’t even working with fibreglass, one of his neighbours was, he was just picking up his mail while wearing only socks.

    Moral of the story: don’t fuck around with fibreglass.
